Off to the alpine pasture: discover the hiking route from Lake Hintersteiner See to the Walleralm
Lake Hintersteiner See is Tyrol's most beautiful and cleanest natural swimming lake and is located at 882 m in the middle of the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve. On the 8-kilometre hike from Lake Hintersteiner See to the Walleralm, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Söllleukental valley and the Austrian mountains opposite. After a typical Tyrolean delicacy at one of the mountain huts, you make your way back towards Lake Hintersteiner See. There is a lido on the eastern shore of the lake, where you can cool off after your hike.
Hiking on the Elferweg in Tyrol - from the Hartkaiser to the Astberg
Hiking trail no. 11, also known as the Elferweg, has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality.
A panoramic trail leads around 30 km from the Hartkaiser to the Astberg - the walking time is up to 5 hours.
This hiking trail is especially fun for your children: on the Elferweg they cross Elmi's magic world on the Hartkaiser with numerous adventure and play opportunities.
The Sonnseitrunde - the adventure hiking trail in Ellmau, Tyrol
The 5-hour hike starts in Ellmau and leads in the direction of the Wilder Kaiser to the Wochenbrunner Alm at 1,080 m. You will pass some very special places along the way:
- the Ellmau stone circle with its tangible natural force field
- the Wochenbrunneralm with a small wildlife park where you can observe deer, roe deer and mountain goats
- the Koglerbauer farm with its exotic herd of llamas
